House of Lords Committee visits supported internship programme at Whipps Cross Hospital
Earlier this week, Whipps Cross Hospital at Barts Health NHS Trust welcomed the UK House of Lords Public Services Committee for a visit to our supported internship programme.
The Public Services Committee is currently holding an inquiry into the transition from education to employment for young disabled people. DFN Project SEARCH submitted written evidence to this inquiry and we were thrilled to have the opportunity to showcase good practice in action.
The Committee got to see supported internships and their long-term impact first-hand, as the Whipps Cross Waltham Forest College partnership has over 40 graduates in jobs across the Hospital.
We wanted to thank all our partners and supporters at Whipps Cross Hospital, the Barts Health NHS Trust and especially the interns and graduates of the programme for making this visit so positive and informative.
Together, we are changing lives!
